Violin Lessons for everyone

Violin lessons are designed for both beginners and advanced students. Whether you have no previous experience and want to learn just the basics of the instrument, or a highly skilled violinist wishing to improve your artistic and technical abilities, you have come to the right place to fulfill your goals.

Regardless of subject or discipline, the learning process must trigger curiosity and contain excitement. I do not believe the sole purpose of taking lessons, any lessons, should be for “fun” only.

Biography

Martin Bazarian

Martin Bazarian graduated from Yerevan State Conservatory in the USSR and holds a Master’s degree in performance and pedagogy.

After moving to Canada, Martin was Concertmaster of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet orchestra, also playing with the Canadian Opera Company, the National Ballet and Phantom of the Opera orchestras. During this period, he did many commercial recordings and movie soundtracks for Hollywood studios.

Martin has also toured extensively throughout the USSR, Poland, Germany, Czechoslovakia, Spain, the United States and Canada with different orchestras.

Since 1999, he is a member of Sinfonia Toronto chamber group, performing at Glenn Gould Studio and Toronto Centre for the Arts.

His teaching experience spans over 30 years, with many of his students being accepted to top Universities in Canada and the United States including McGill University in Montreal and the Peabody School Of Music in Baltimore. He also acts as a guest artist/coach for strings at Earl Haig Secondary School in Toronto.

My role as an educator is to widen the students’ intellectual horizons and have fun in the process. My ultimate goal as a pedagogue is to make students happy by appreciating their own achievements.

Lessons

New students are accepted year round if space is available. There is no registration fee.

The first lesson/interview is free of charge. Lessons are offered weekly, in 60 minutes length.

Students are expected to attend their weekly lessons in a timely manner, with all of the lesson materials prepared.

I strongly encourage taking The Royal Conservatory of Music exams, as a third party assessment of the students’ progress.
